Service to the University

The Institutional Research Office (IR) was initiated in 1980 to provide institutional research and planning assistance to administrators through accurate data and timely reporting to facilitate university decisions. The office has evolved to serve the broader university through annual publication of a fact sheet, oversight of multiple external governmental and non-governmental agency/organizational reporting requirements, development of a university-wide reporting schedule (organized by administrative divisions and departments) to help monitor federal/state/local reports/licenses/ requirements, providing online survey capability to the university community for projects and data analysis, orchestrating the academic departmental review process and development and analysis of alumni surveys, conducting student focus groups, participating in national survey endeavors that provide comparative information about MVNU students/faculty/services, generating historical trend data, utilizing national data (e.g., IPEDS) to conduct comparisons of MVNU with comparable colleges/universities, and expanding internal reporting and publication of data and survey results through the MVNU Intranet and common network drive to facilitate continuous university-wide improvement.
