Living with the Absent Minded Professor:

A Practical Woman's Account of Living With A Man Devoted to the Humanities

First off, you're gonna need coffee!  I didn't drink coffee when I first married the professor (who was then only a stressed-out graduate student).  But I soon learned.  Unlike normal homes in which coffee, along with orange juice, is a standard drink to have with breakfast, in our house, dedicated to the liberal arts, coffee is an all-day staple.  A pot is expected in the morning, but then there should be a pot brewing quietly all day, right into the evening when the consumption of caffeine is an obviously bad idea.  Doesn't matter.  The way my husband and his peers drink coffee, it clearly must be vital to stir the thoughts, like a silver spoon stirring half and half.
