Your Professor:
I am a graduate of one of MVNU's sister institutions, Eastern Nazarene College
(78), located in Boston. I grew up on Long Island with two sisters and a brother
(I am the eldest) and where my mother and father were deeply involved with the
Church of the Nazarene. This was true even while my father was serving as a
special agent for the FBI. I'll tell you sometime about him taking offerings
with his service revolver still sticking out of the back of his jacket (Gee Dad,
did you get more money that way?). When I was a senior at ENC Dad retired for
the Bureau and studied via correspondence school to become a minister. In time
my mother also became ordained and the two of the have served as pastors and
chaplains both in New York and in Boston. They have retired only within the last
two years.
I received my masters from Lehigh University with an emphasis on Alfred Lord Tennyson's Idylls of the King and earned my PhD from the University of Rhode Island at which I wrote my dissertation on "Biblical Cues of Loss and Reclamation in David Copperfield." I am a big time Charles Dickens fan.
Enough technical stuff: You can review my vita at http://nzr.mvnu.edu/faculty/trearick/english/rearick/vita.htm
or go to my "unofficial office" at http://nzr.mvnu.edu/faculty/trearick/english/rearick/office.htm and learn more than you could want to.
