Sky Strider
Steady is the rhythm
beaten out by pounding footfall
Chasing fleeing clouds
that tantalize the straining feet.
Straining ever straining
yet still knowing in our "could-all"
That the straining "pounders"
will never touch the snowy fleece.
Sky Runner / Cloud Strider
In the ear there roars the song
that sounded God’s third day.
It booms across creation
to crash and roll into the run.
And light pierced water
rises up, all within a spray,
while dancing down below there
shines a bright fragmented sun.
Sky Thrasher / Sun Walker
Overhead the sky is blue,
and the sun now
warms the shoulder.
But the clouds above
will never move,
no matter the foot’s reach
And God in Gull’s voice
laments Man’s Pride,
not wise though so much older
While the soul that would still
know its place
runs along a mirrored beach.
