Writing About

Halloween is in my house a day to celebrate the imagination--especially, but not exclusively, the imagination of the scary. I like getting a chill from what I read. Not everyone does, and if you are one of those, observe caution before reading the fiction attached to this page. However, I deny that there is anything organically evil in the experience of being frightened. Some people like roller coasters; some do not. Some people like ghost stories; some do not. And yet it is interesting that many people who do not like to be scared have turned their inclinations of taste into moral imperatives.
